Up and Down and Back Up - Blog Post #3

Christmas lights on the main campus.
It's been a week of up and down- and back up, of course, because God never leaves us down when we trust in Him. Sometimes it takes a while, but He always comes through.

I got a new companion last week. We get along great! We're still learning how to be teachers though, so our lessons can be difficult. We were trying to teach the Restoration to one of our investigators, but it was a disaster. Probably the worst lesson I've taught since I've been here. We didn't really help our investigator at all. Every time I get thrown down like that though, I remember one of my favorite 'Mormon Message' videos. It's called 'The Will of God' ....if you haven't seen it, go watch it. (Note: Here is the Link) Anyhow the line I always think of from it is, "Thank you for loving me enough to cut me down." Sometimes we just get cut down so God can build us back up how He wants.

Anyhow, we decided we would reteach the lesson the next day. We studied and prayed and practiced and prayed and studied but still weren't entirely sure where to go. I kept thinking of that scripture in D&C "Take no thought beforehand what ye shall say, but treasure up continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in that very hour that portion which shall be meted unto every man"...something like that. I was praying for a miracle breakthrough the night before, because I knew if we didn't find a way to get through to her this lesson she probably wouldn't want us to keep coming back. I remembered a visual aid example for our lesson that I remember a missionary using a looooooooooooooong time ago. I know that was inspiration by the spirit because it really helped her 'get it' and understand why things happened the way they did.

Besides that not TOO much happened over here this week....besides SNOWWWW, glorious snow! There's so much snow I am just so happy. It's soo cold but I love it.

Let It Snow!
The Lost Boys are leaving on Monday (that's the district next to mine....they never have a teaher, so we call them the lost boys). Pretty sad to see them go. Our whole zone is going out to lunch today though since it's Pday. It's almost MY time to go now though, too! That seems crazy.

I'm going to miss those Lost Boys!
Hope everyone is well! Blessings to you!

P.S. Here is me and the other Hermana Nielsen, and with my last companion Sister Park. I miss her so much!
